Volunteer Roles

Below are the volunteer roles we need to fill, if you would like to volunteer – please complete the form below.

Range Attendant

The Attendant is required to keep an eye on competitors practicing, ensuring that the driving range is being used as expected e.g. players must stay on the mats, not use drivers, and can’t dominate the facility.

Driving Range Attendants are required Tuesday 18 January – Friday 21 January.

Walker Board

These volunteers are also known as Score Board Holders, with the role being to carry a lightweight leaderboard.

Scoreboard Holders are required Thursday 20 January and Friday 21 January.

Replenisher

This volunteer is tasked with replenishing ice, drinks and /or face cloths at set stations on the course.

Emptying of the rubbish bins and taking the rubbish to the bin compound (behind the Pro Shop) is also part of this role.

Volunteers are needed for this role Tuesday 18 January – Friday 21 January..

Drivers

This person drives volunteers to / from their designated location on the course (if too far to walk), following a specific timetable.

Drivers are required Tuesday 18 January – Friday 21 January.

Billet

A billet provides a ‘home away from home’ for travelling players – their own bedroom (shared if hosting 2 players), access to a bathroom, and meals as required. Some competitors may want to be able to launder some clothing.

Players will be seeking billeting from Sunday 16th January to Saturday 22nd January. Transportation may be required to and from Avondale GC but is not essential.

Spotter

Spotters are positioned on the longer holes, to spot the fall of players’ shots and assist competitors in finding their balls.

Spotters help to keep the field moving.

Binoculars greatly assist when following a ball in the air and if you do not have a pair we will organise some for you if you let us know in advance.

Spotters should contact a Rules Official if a ruling is required. Spotters are required Tuesday 18 January – Friday 21 January.

Traffic Controller

The on-duty traffic control volunteer will be managing traffic at the 11th hole. Traffic controllers are required from Tuesday 18th – Friday 21st January.

All Rounder

Our favourite type of volunteer, happy to do any of the roles (excludes Billet).  This gives us the flexibility of filling shifts as per volunteers requirements.
